ABOUT

Joe Kim is an independent film professional and founder and former Festival Director of the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (2008-2012).

​

His short films — Lo, Chan: Part of the Nation, and A Primer — have screened at festivals across the country, including the Philadelphia Film Festival and Urbanworld.

 

In addition to his film work, Joe brings eight years of experience in IT, where he honed his troubleshooting, leadership, and teamwork skills under pressure — most recently during the global CrowdStrike outage.

Joe is currently prepping his next short film “Rebel Adjacent” and is actively seeking freelance or full-time opportunities in the film and TV industry.
