ABOUT

Joe Kim is an independent film professional and founder and former Festival Director of the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (2008-2012).

His short films — Lo, Chan: Part of the Nation, and A Primer — have screened at festivals across the country, including the Philadelphia Film Festival and Urbanworld.

​

In addition to his film work, Joe brings eight years of experience in IT, where he honed his troubleshooting, leadership, and teamwork skills under pressure — most recently during the global CrowdStrike outage.

​

Joe is currently prepping his next short film “Rebel Adjacent” and is actively seeking entry-level roles in the film and TV industry in writing support, production and assistant positions.
