ABOUT
Joe Kim is a film professional with experience in independent filmmaking, festival leadership, and studio production environments.
He is the founder and former Festival Director of the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (2008–2012), where he supported emerging filmmakers and built lasting community partnerships. His short films — Lo, Chan: Part of the Nation, and A Primer — have screened nationally, including at the Philadelphia Film Festival and Urbanworld. He is currently developing his next short film, Rebel Adjacent.
Joe has recently expanded his hands-on studio experience, supporting major productions for Miramax and Tyler Perry Studios in Production Office and Accounting roles. His work includes Scenechronize workflow management, document distribution, crew coordination, and payroll support in fast-paced environments.
Joe is actively pursuing opportunities in film and television in production support, writing assistance, and production office roles, with a long-term focus on narrative storytelling.
